Set next to the Fire Volcano (Volcán de Fuego), one of the three active volcanoes in Guatemala, famous for its lava eruptions that can be seen from Glamping Site. Andrea Cardona as many other experienced hikers agree that enjoying sunrise above Acatenango summit it is exceptional, making you feel above the clouds like in heaven.
Volcan de Fuego is known to be the world’s most consistently erupting volcano. Its eruptions can be viewed from the distance when driving to the starting point from Antigua and like clockwork every 15 minutes you can view the smoke bellowing out of the top.
As you ascend, experience microclimate variations crossing through a diverse ecosystem, make sure that when you listen to your inner voice, it is motivating in the middle of the physical challenge, the entire team will be there for you. Next morning, we invite you to hike up to the summit, so the goal can be accomplished printing an unforgettable memory of the Ring of Fire, Volcanic Chain extending from Mexico to El Salvador, across the Antigua Valley and out to the Pacific Coast.

Acatenango: Hike & Adventure timeBreakfast time at Miratenango start with a fresh breakfast like a real Chapin: eggs, beans, plantein, tortillas, coffee and juice at Miratenango before starting to hike. Feel free to share your food preferences or allergies. We provide basic hiking gear: Warm hats, gloves and rainy coats. Please be prepared with warm jacket, scarf/bandana, hiking boots, trekking polesticks. It is not guaranteed equipment rental available. Begin the hike at 11:00 AM with a lunch stop mid-way. The first technical stop is time to recharge batteries: a chicken burrito with avocado, tomato, and onion, fruit, sweet bread, and a juice box, designed for an energy boost. Upon arrival to Glamping site 03:30 PM delight a revitalizing noodle soup. |

Glamping SiteGlamping tents designed for premium comfort and relaxation amidst nature. It features 7 Tents that fit up to 8 hikers, a social atmosphere with cots, sleeping bags and pillows. Toilet Facilities: The base camp has one basic toilet, and though it’s not luxurious, it’s the most practical solution available at 3,600 meters. Please note there’s no natural water source, we recommend being mindful of waste. |

Sunrise at the Acatenango VolcanoWake up 03:30 AM for the sunrise summit hike, reaching the top enjoy a spectacular sunrise over the Antigua Valley, Pacific Coast, and Ring of Fire. Return to basecamp for coffee and oatmeal. Afterward, descend about 4 hours to Miratenango and return to Antigua by shuttle 2:00 PM. |

Electrolyte drinks or sports drinks to stay hydrated
Snacks like trail mix, granola bars, or dried fruits for extra energy
Clothing Recommendations:
Layering: Wear 2 extra layers of clothing, it can get chilly at higher altitudes!
Rain gear: A poncho or waterproof jacket is recommended in case of rain.
Good Hiking Shoes with solid grip AVOID brand new ones.
Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a sun hat are highly recommended.
Important Notes:
Sleep Well: Ensure you’re well-rested before the hike. Avoid alcohol 100% and heavy meals the night before to ensure your body is ready.
Safety First: Our guides will monitor the pace and ensure that everyone is comfortable. If someone is unable to continue, the hike may be cut short for safety reasons.
