Tour Overview

Let’s go on an expedition to one of the most extraordinary places in Guatemala!

Start our experience by renovating ourselves by the incredible landscape views and exploring the amazing Acatenango Volcano.

Set next to the Fire Volcano (Volcán de Fuego), one of the three active volcanoes in Guatemala, famous for its lava eruptions that can be seen from basecamp. Acatenango is the region’s third highest peak and will be our home for one night, the perfect place to witness life in its brightest splendor.

As you ascend, experience exhilarating microclimates and changes in terrain, crossing through a diverse ecosystem on your way to the top. Here, at the summit, an incredible view of Guatemala’s impressive chain of volcanoes can also be observed. From this vantage point, you can see the far reach of the Ring of Fire, extending from Mexico to El Salvador, across the Antigua Valley and out to the Pacific Coast.

From our wood cabin basecamp, the adventure continues. With the entire front made of polycarbonate, you’ll have a front row seat to what feels like a high altitude fireworks show, as Volcán de Fuego erupts right in front of your bunk bed. This trip can be accomplished as a one-day trip, an overnight stay, or a 4×4.
